The cultural day of the 10th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) took place on Friday at the cultural ground of Eko Hotel in Lagos.
This year’s celebration of the 10th edition of AMVCA marks a significant milestone, recognizing and honouring the talents and creativity of Africans.
The event was graced by nominees and dignitaries who adorned themselves in splendid cultural attire, representing various cultures in Nigeria and Africa. As expected, renowned stars such as Iyabo Ojo, Tana Adelana, Neo Akpofure, Venita Akpofure, Scarlet Gomes, Alex Ekubo, and many others were in attendance, fully prepared for the occasion.
Neo Akpofure
Neo Akpofure, a former housemate of Big Brother Naija, made a striking appearance at the 10th AMVCA cultural event, representing the Itsekiri culture. Adorned with various shades of beads, his attire exuded an undeniable charm and aura, giving him the regal look of royalty. His impeccable sense of style earned him the title of Best-Dressed Male at the event, sponsored by Goldberg, along with a prize of one million naira. His outfit was truly a masterpiece, deserving a perfect score of 10/10.
Venita Akpofure
Venita Akpofure, another ex-BBNaija reality TV star, also graced the AMVCA cultural event with her stunning Itsekiri-inspired outfit, stealing the spotlight effortlessly. Her gorgeous appearance earned her the title of Best Dressed Female, awarded by the organizers, Goldberg, and a prize of one million naira. This wasn’t the first time she had been recognized for her exceptional style, as she had previously won the Best Dressed Female award at the AMVCA9 cultural night as well. Her outfit was undeniably deserving of a solid 10/10.
Kunle Remi
Kunle Remi, the host of the AMVCA cultural day, sported a delightful appearance with a perfect blend of green and black. His attire, complemented by his hairstyle, exuded class and uniqueness. His overall look was deserving of a score of 9/10.
Tana Adelana
Tana Adelana caught the attention of many at the AMVCA cultural night with her Hausa-inspired appearance. Despite her Igbo heritage, her costume suited her perfectly, giving her a radiant and traditional look. As for what she would wear to the award show that night, it remained a mystery.
Saga Adeoluwa
Saga Adeolu, an ex-BBN reality TV star, made a memorable entrance at the AMVCA cultural event in his exquisite Yoruba attire. His well-designed outfit and accessories made him stand out among the crowd, earning him a spot among the best-dressed males of the night. With its perfect blend of tradition and modern style, his outfit deserved a perfect score of 10/10.
Liquorose
Liquorose, the first runner-up of BBNaija season 6, showcased her colourful style in pink and green fabrics at the AMVCA cultural day event. As always, she didn’t disappoint with her impeccable fashion sense, deserving a score of 9/10.
VJ Adams
VJ Adams brought life to the AMVCA Cultural Ground with his magnificent Yoruba outfit. His agbada, made from beautiful embroidered green fabric, was embellished with captivating green stones arranged in a perfect pattern. The resplendent fila (cap) on his head, also adorned with stones, added to the overall appeal. With its fusion of traditional and modern styles, his outfit deserved a perfect score of 10/10.
Sofia Chisom
Sofia Chisom, also known as Soso, represented the Edo culture splendidly, capturing the essence of its glory. Her captivating Edo attire, from the beaded Edo cap (Ewu-ivie) to the fabric choice and neck beads, scored an impressive 8/10 for its captivating representation.
Alex Ekubo
Alex Ekubo looked elegant in traditional Igbo attire, with a black cap, perfectly embroidered red top, and black trousers. His appearance was one of the best, deserving a solid score of 9/10.
Iyabo Ojo
Iyabo Ojo effortlessly depicted Yoruba culture in a simple yet admirable way. The perfect blend of her skin tone and the brown colour of the lace fabric showcased authenticity and simplicity, earning her outfit an 8/10.
Yemi Cregx
Yemi Cregx brought elegance and royalty to the AMVCA Cultural Ground with his impeccable Yoruba royalty attire. The well-tailored aso-oke, well-beaded piece, and champagne gold-colored velvet wrapper/skirt stole the night, making his look a masterpiece deserving of a score of 9/10.
Tomike Adeoye
Tomike Adeoye seized attention at the AMVCA Cultural Ground with her elegant Fulani attire. The beautiful mudukare with vibrant colours and intricate embroidery reflected the rich heritage of the Fulani people. Completing her look with exquisite jewellery and a hairstyle that spoke of her heritage, her outfit earned a commendable 9/10.
Marvin Achi
Marvin Achi set the AMVCA Cultural Ground on fire with his eye-catching Yoruba outfit. His agbada, made from beautiful embroidered green fabric, embellished with blue stones, and complemented by his headgear and beads, added a touch of tradition to his look. His outfit deserved a score of 9/10.
Scarlet Gomez
Scarlet Gomez looked stunning in her Igbo attire, wearing a beaded aquamarine-colored lace and a well-beaded gold blouse with intricate patterns. Her gentle and beautifully wrapped headgear added an elegant touch to her outfit, showcasing the Igbo culture admirably. She scored a good 8.5 out of 10.
Anita Akide
Anita Akide, better known as Tacha, a former housemate of BBNaija, made a grand entrance at the AMVCA Cultural Ground, stealing the spotlight with her exquisite attire. She gracefully donned a beaded green dress with an aso-oke design resembling a petal, elegantly covering the top of the dress. Tacha’s gele (headgear) was a masterpiece, flawlessly wrapped to perfection, framing her face with elegance. Her outfit deserved a solid score of 9/10.
