Many talented Nigerians are doing great things and attempting surprising feats all over the whole, but among them, all is the ever-strong and talented Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya.
Tunde Onakoya, a Nigerian chess master, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon by playing for 58 hours straight in Times Square, New York City.
This feat requires exceptional chess skills, stamina, and mental fortitude, as the current record stands at an incredible 56 hours.
Onakoya is known for his dedication to empowering disadvantaged youth through chess and has previously played 10 chess games simultaneously in Germany, winning all of them. He is a top 50 chess player in Nigeria and the founder of Chess in Slums, an organization aimed at providing opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds.
We are rooting for him.
