Nigerian Afrobeat artist Oxlade recently expressed that he feels more appreciated in Ghana than in Nigeria.
In an interview, he explained his decision to collaborate with Ghanaian hip-hop legend Sarkodie on his debut album, Oxlade from Africa.
Oxlade also addressed previous social media posts where he accused some “OGs” in the Nigerian music industry of boycotting and blackmailing him, stating that his frustrations stemmed from the behavior of individuals trying to dominate the industry and act as gatekeepers.
In his words;
“If I’m being honest with you, Ghana has shown me more love than Nigeria.“I hate the mindset of people trying to play god.”
“When they feel like they can determine your trajectory. Sometimes they feel I see them outside and I don’t greet them well.”
