American rapper J. Cole recently revealed why he retracted a diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar.

In his track 7 Minute Drill, J. Cole responded to Lamar’s diss in Future and Metro Boomin’s song Like That, where Lamar took shots at him and Drake.

J. Cole’s line, “he fell off like the Simpsons,” was directed at Lamar. However, during his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, J. Cole apologized to Lamar.

He explained that his recent single Port Antonio was influenced by people trying to create drama for attention and profit. J. Cole admitted that continuing the feud would have only caused unnecessary bad blood between him and Kendrick Lamar.

He rapped about it saying;

“I pulled the plug because I saw where that was about to go, they wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make their pockets grow. They see the fire in my pen and think I’m dogging smoke. I wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro, I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?”
