Nigerian singer Tems has finally released her highly anticipated single, “Love Me Jeje.” She debuted the song during her performance at Coachella by singing the chorus as she announced her upcoming album “Born in the Wild.”
The song “Love Me Jeje,” was initially sung by songwriter Seyi Sodimu, who released the original in 1997 featuring Shaffy Bello. Seyi Sodimu also shared the video of Tems performing the sing at Coachella with the caption:
“This made my day. The beautiful thing about music is that it transcends generations and connects us through time. Shoutout to Tems and her team, and congrats on a wonderful Coachella performance.”
Somewhere in the song, Tems emphasizes her undying devotion and loyalty with masterful use of repetition: “Any time you call me, I’ll be down / I’ll be down / Because I love and I love and I love and I love you only / Because I need and I need and I need and I need you more.”
“Love Me JeJe” serves as the first song confirmed to be from Tems’ Born In The Wild album.
