As ARISE Fashion Week prepares for its 2020 event, the organisation entertains a guest of selected social media influencers to a pre-event brunch at Circa Non-Pareil in Lekki, Lagos.
This year’s edition of the event is themed ’30 under 30 : The New Stars.’ This year’s edition will also be the first time the fashion event is awarding designers with monetary prizes.
After welcoming the guests, ARISE FASHION WEEK Co-Producer, Ruth Osime gave a quick summary on what to expect from the event.
The whole idea is to help assist young designers in building their brands. We need a breath of fresh air. We need younger people to get into this space and be given the accreditation they certainly deserve.
A whopping sum of $500,000 will be awarded to the designers, their work being judged based on their presentation, artistic designs and market value. Designers will be awarded on the third and concluding day of the event, Saturday, December 12, 2020.
Judges include Reni Folawiyo, Kehinde Wiley, Odion Oseni Mobolaji Dawodu, and Niyi Okuboyejo.
Also, Naomi Campbell, Alton Mason and Alpha Dia will be spotted on the runway.
The event will be held virtually, taking place as from the 11th to 13th of December, broadcasted worldwide on ARISEPLAY streaming platform and other ARISE/THISDAY platforms.
