YBNL singer Asake continues to shatter records with his third studio album, Lungu Boy.
After achieving back-to-back success with his first two albums, Asake has released his third album in three years, titled Lungu Boy. The album has set a new record, becoming the longest-charting number-one album on the TurnTable album chart. Since its release on August 8, 2024, Lungu Boy has spent an impressive 15 weeks at the top of the chart, dominating the music scene throughout this period.

With this remarkable achievement, Asake now holds the record for both the longest-charting album and song on the TurnTable Charts. In 2023, his hit single Lonely At The Top claimed the title of the longest-charting number-one song, surpassing Omah Lay’s Godly, which previously held the record with 11 weeks at the summit.
Since breaking into the mainstream in 2022, Asake has ascended to superstardom through a streak of hit releases featured in his albums Mr. Money With The Vibe and Work of Art. His latest album, Lungu Boy, continues this trend, boasting guest appearances from Stormzy, Central Cee, Anais Cardot, and Wizkid.
One of the standout tracks from the album, MMS featuring Wizkid, recently earned a nomination for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, marking Asake’s second nomination in as many years.
Asake’s rise in the Nigerian music scene has been described as unprecedented, and with the massive digital success of Lungu Boy, the superstar shows no signs of slowing down.
