House of Ga’a, the cinematic masterpiece that has got everyone talking seems to be doing more than just that but is making waves on the chart, as it tops the Netflix chart. Created by a skillful team, this piece was written by Tunde Babalola as he wove the storyline into an incredible progression to Yoruba culture. Co-produced with Joseph Umoibon, the story is set in the Oyo empire during the 18th century where politics, power, royalty, greed, revenge, and betrayal were its most outstanding themes.
The stellar cast is made of Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Seun Akindele, Yemi Blaq, Toyin Abraham, Jide Oyegbile, Teddy A, Bambam, Gabriel Afolayan, Stan NzeIbrahim Chatta, Adedimeji Lateef, William Benson, Femi Adebayo, Juliana Olayode, Kunle Coker, Bimbo Manuel, Gbenga Titiloye, Dele Odule, and Adeniyi Johnson.
The directorial mastermind behind the production of House of Ga’a happens to be Bolanle Austen-peters who for years now has been known for being behind major genius Nollywood productions like Man of God, Fumilayo Ransom Kuti, 93 Days Collision Course, and Bling Lagosians sure made a solid point with this film. Bolanle is also a lawyer, cultural entrepreneur, and theater director/producer, and with the success of this movie production, she has stepped more into the limelight and even took to her instagram to say “Dear All, Woke up to this heartwarming news apart from being No 1 in Nigeria we are No 7 on Netflix Global (Non -English films) Won’t have been possible without every single person that has pushed and watched “House of GA’A.” We have done 3.4million views in 5days Let’s continue the push as we celebrate African stories!”
