2. Ex-Ooni’s Wife and Others Remanded Over Ibadan Stampede Tragedy
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi of Court 1, Iyaganku, Ibadan, has ordered the remand of Olori Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, and Principal Fasasi Abdulahi Babatunde at Agodi Correctional Facility following a stampede that claimed 40 minors’ lives.
As noted by The Nation, the remand will last pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of the Oyo State Ministry of Justice.
The ruling, issued on Tuesday, followed their arrest in connection with the recent stampede at Bashorun Islamic High School.
All three individuals were arraigned at Chief Magistrate Court 1, Iyaganku, Ibadan, under a heavy security presence.
