The 2025 Trace Awards nominations are officially out, and Nigerian stars are shining brightly across multiple categories. Scheduled for February 26 in Zanzibar, the 2025 Trace Awards ceremony will also feature a music summit celebrating the talent and global influence of African music.
Top Nigerian artists like Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, Tems, and Yemi Alade have earned recognition in various categories. For Song of the Year, nominees include Asake and Travis Scott’s “Active,” Rema and Shallipopi’s “Benin Boys,” and Tems’ “Love Me Jeje,” with Burna Boy also receiving a nod for his track “Higher.”
In the Album of the Year category, Nigerian nominees include Asake’s Lungu Boy, Rema’s HEIS, and Burna Boy’s I Told Them. They’ll compete against standout projects from Ghanaian stars like Amaarae’s Fountain Baby, King Promise’s True To Self, and Stonebwoy’s 5th Dimension.
