It wouldn’t be a Nigerian celebrity showdown without a little post-match drama, and this weekend’s ‘Chaos In The Ring’ event delivered just that!
Nigerian singer and internet sensation, Speed Darlington, is stirring up controversy following his boxing match with street-pop star, Portable. The fight, which headlined the ‘Chaos In The Ring‘ event on Saturday, was organized by Game Rush in collaboration with Balmoral Promotions.
Speedy didn’t take the L lightly. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), he made jaw-dropping claims, accusing Portable of using “juju” (native charms) during their heated bout. According to him, his shoulder mysteriously dislocated mid-match, even though he didn’t feel overly exhausted — a twist he believes could only be explained by supernatural interference.
This match follows the December 2024 boxing showcase and the launch of Friday Fight Night in February 2025. Clearly, the organizers are on a mission to turn celebrity boxing into the next big entertainment wave.
Meanwhile, Portable walked away with the win and has been trending ever since. Whether it was pure skill, street smarts, or something more… mystical, the internet is buzzing, and fans are divided.
According to reports, tensions between the two artists had been brewing long before the match. It all reportedly started when Speed Darlington offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at an event — an offer Portable allegedly found disrespectful and insulting.
